7th Grade Organic Sculptures


This project concentrates on organic form, scaling, monochromatic sculptures and obviously 3-Dimensional form. Students recollect the differences between geometric and organic form and created a unique organic form that they scaled from a smaller size to a larger size creating a total of five shapes.  We then reviewed monochromatic color scales and after practicing how to properly mix colors with consistency, student painted each shape an individual value within their color’s scale. Propping the shapes up in their order of size creates a 3-Dimensional sculpture.  Some students chose a horizontal display like you see above and others chose a more “stepped” approach like you see below.
