4th graders began their cupcake journey last week while we fired their donuts (stay tuned!!!) using oil pastels.
Upon return after the weekend, we set up our display paper by adapting from a 7th grade lesson I have here.
We created a chalk patterned background on black paper as the lesson describes, but we left out the forms.
We then cut out our cupcakes and placed them on “display” recognizing the black section as the counter top. Set the cupcakes up from the bottom but not in the patterned area and they will look like they are sitting. They could be spread apart much like Thiebaud’s drawings or they could be placed together like a professional baker might do.
I think they look good enough to eat!
