Kinder Snowmen, just in time for winter!

Kindergarteners finished up their snowman projects!

We used clay to create the snowmen and practice different sizes; cotton to create texture of something soft.

From there we talked about details: adding eyes, nose, mouth, buttons (we practiced our counting) and a hat and arms.  We did a lot of pasting in the project which was great practice for my Kinders.

I will add pictures later, but most recently we introduced out very large vocabulary word: quantity – or “how much”.  We talked about the quantity of snow we get in a blizzard compared to a light snow.  And then I had the students decide whether they would want a blizzard or a light snow.  It truly varied between students but made for a great finish to our project.  We used q-tips to make this happen and we also added an orange dot for our nose using the other side of the q-tips.

I always love the excitement of Kinders no matter what we do. 🙂
